This is the ultimate Sirius Boom Box Bundle for the Sportster Replay model! This is one of the original Sportster Replay units that had the very strong FM transponder, that the FCC made Sirius weaken on future models. This means that if placed within a few feet of an FM radio, you can tune your FM radio to the appropriate frequency and have a wireless connection to the Sirius radio. Radio works great – I just powered it up today without issue. Sirius is offering dirt cheap service right now on original radios like this. It is working now, and receives all channels so you don’t need to call anyone unless and until it stops receiving. The SP-B2 Boombox is a great unit, throwing lots of sound and is perfect for parties, decks, home gyms, apartments, etc. I had a lot of fun with it. The replay feature will allow you to rewind up to 40 minutes of audio from the channel. This is great to repeat a song, catch up on the news, or make sure you heard correctly what Howard Stern said that has everyone laughing. The car dock will allow you to connect in the car, and you can either use the FM transponder for wireless transfer of the signal or jack into your head unit with a standard audio patch cable. The back of the car dock has a standard mounting pattern that will fit most model-specific vehicle mounts available. The home dock is another way to use the same unit and tie into a dedicated rack system or high end stereo. Using the Terk kit described above allowed me to connect this into a 2001 Bonneville SSEi and later a 2007 Buick Lucerne, integrating with the XM antenna that came with the cars. Turns out that even before the Sirius XM merger, their receiver antennas bandwidths were very close due to similar FCC registration, and that allowed me to have a professional looking installation using the original antenna in both cars. The Pixel Technologies power inserter was something I picked up and is supposed to be very good, but I never got around to connecting it in the elaborate configuration I had in mind. It is brand new.
