Using batteries makes the unit totally portable and great for camping, the beach, tailgating etc… There is some rattling in one of the speakers NOT an issue with the speaker or quality of music….. When you pick the unit up and move it you hear it… It’s part of the pivot mechanism that attaches the speaker to the main radio unit that must have some broken plastic pieces inside. The unit still functions 100% and sits just fine with the speakers aimed straight and the radio portion aimed slightly up.
