Verified filter function (wide, narrow) on MW, SW, ham receptions. Tested with a 85′ end-fed long wire. Tested with battery power and AC/DC adapter. Tested with external speaker, and headphones. Whip antenna is straight, no bent sections. Please note the battery door does not remain closed. The tabs are in place, the door does fit nicely. A piece of tape works well to secure the door. Grundig Satelit 700 World Receiver with Radio Data System. UP FOR SALE IS A SATELLIT 700 WORLD RADIO MADE BY GRUNDIG FROM PORTUGAL IN THE EARLY 1990′S, IN VERY GOOD COSMETIC AND WORKING CONDITION. IT COMES WITH A POWER ADAPTER (NOT THE ORIGINAL), 4 NEW ALKALINE D BATTERIES, AND THE ORIGINAL GRUNDIG OWNERS MANUAL. THIS WAS MY FATHER’S RADIO AND I TESTED ALL THE BASIC FUNCTIONS WITH THE BATTERIES AS THE POWER SUPPLY AND THE AC ADAPTER. EVERYTHING WORKED VERY WELL AND THE RADIO SOUNDS VERY GOOD. THERE ARE A FEW SPOTS WHERE THE PAINT IS MISSING FROM THE SPEAKER GRILL AND THE LEFT SIDE OF THE CONTROL PANEL, AND A 3/8 SCRATCH IN THE CLEAR DISPLAY COVER. OTHERWISE THE UNIT IS IN EXELLENT CONDITION. IF YOU ARE READING THIS DESCRIPTION YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW SOME OF THE CAPABILITIES AND VERSATILITY OF THIS RADIO. I USED THE INCLUDED MANUAL TO TEST THE FUNCTIONALITY OF THIS UNIT. WITHOUT GOING THROUGH EVERY DETAIL I WAS ABLE TO DETERMINE THAT. THE RADIO TURNED EASILY ON AND OFF. ALL DISPLAY ELEMENTS SHOWED UP AT THE CORRECT PLACE AND TIME. ALL METHODS OF STATION TUNING – MANUAL, MEMORY SCAN AND THE NUMERIC KEYPAD INPUT WORKED FOR BRINGING IN STATIONS. I DIDN’T HAVE LUCK WITH THE SHORT WAVE – PERHAPS IT WAS MY LOCATION OR THE WEATHER – BUT THE METHOD FOR LOCATING. THE SW STATIONS WAS FINE. I WAS ABLE TO USE THE MENU AND SET THE TIMERS FOR STATION PLAY, AND TURN LAMP AND BEEP ON & OFF. I WAS ABLE TO STORE A STATION IN A MEMORY FILE AND RETRIEVE IT. AS FAR AS I CAN TELL EVERYTHING IS FUNCTIONAL ON THIS UNIT. CONTACT ME IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS. QUALITY DURACELL BATTERIES WILL BE INCLUDED IN THIS SALE. Not the prettiest GRUNDIG Satellit 700, but works fine. Look beyond the scrapes and scruffs and you have a nice working GRUNDIG Satellit 700 receiver. Its nice to have a radio that works as it should, and you don’t have to worry about it getting scratched. The only noticeable flaw is on the back where someone cut open a small section (see pics). However it is just cosmeticand nothing was changes in the electronics. Look at the pictures and you’ll see that this is a good working radio. I’ll even include batteries so you can use it as soon as you get it. Includes GRUNDIG Satellit 700 users manual. Overall good physical condition, some typical marks/scuffs/scratches and a couple small paint spots. Antenna is missing the very top “nub”/stopper. Antenna is also a bit loose in terms of swiveling/spinning when extended. The power barrel connection/port is a bit inconsistent, in general it functions fine, but can lose connection if moved/wiggled. I believe this issue is inside the units barrel port, not the power cable/barrel connector. Please contact with any questions or requests for additional pictures.
