If you are looking for one of these “lifetime subscription” Sportsters, this one is definitely a great set! With every accessory required, this complete set makes it very easy to start listening to satellite radio in your vehicle. The lifetime subscription on this radio consists of the “Sirius Select” package which has 120+ channels including HOWARD STERN. If you want to verify if this radio has a specific channel send me a message. The lifetime activation on this receiver is GUARANTEED. Cosmetically, the reciever is in great overall condition. The unit shows minor signs of previous use, but no major imperfections. The screens light is in perfect working condition with fully functional “brightness & contrast” settings. This model has an option to use orange or green as a backlight for both the screen and buttons. The screen does have some scuffing but nothing noticeable unless e amines under bright light. When the reciever is ON and functioning, these scuffs are unnoticeable. The unit is has been cleaned and looks great, no dust or anything. The Sportster receiver itself is in great working condition. All of the features have been tested and are work just fine. Like most SP-R1 receivers, on occasion the reciever might say “acquiring signal” which just takesusually if you are just turning it on. It needs to acquire a strong signal to start transmission. This is not any problem or anything….. ESPECIALLY since this will be used in a vehicle which always obtains the best reception. If this doesn’t immediately go away, for some reason if you poke the middle of reciever on the bottom of screen it quickly receives full signal. Also if you press the “band” button that can help too. I wanted to mention this little secret in case you have service issues in your area but if using in a vehicle you shouldn’t have a big issue. This activated lifetime subscription can only be used from this specific receiver and cannot be transferred. This Sportster SP-R1 model includes the strong “Pre-FCC” FM transmitter. The strong FM transmitter has the FM channels 87.7 / 87.9 available for transmission. Even though it includes the strong FM Transmitter, the vehicle kit includes a direct connection auxiliary wire, which is definitely the best method to use. Like mentioned, a brand new unopened Sportster vehicle kit is included. This Car Kit includes everything needed to quickly and easily connect, you do not need professional installation whatsoever. What makes these Sportster units the best is their overall compatibly with a home kit or Sportster boom box. The vehicle / home kits and Sportster boombox are compatible with both the SP-R1 & SP-R2 models along with the Streamer Replay. Upon arrival you can immediatey start listening to nearly every genre of commercial-free music, Howard Stern and much more. The lifetime subscription is only on this specific unit and cannot be transferred to any other. The receiver has had multiple channel updates and is in GUARANTEED active “lifetime” condition. Used with a bright display, may show a little wear but nothing bad. I got this used and have had it for a few months. Was active when I got it, recently did a channel update and is still active. Gets Howard Stern on channels 100 and 101, Nascar on 90 , NFL on 88 , B. King Blues on 70, Ozzies’s Boneyard on 38 , Fox News , Jazz , Pop , Christian , Country , Bluegrass , Comedy, Latino stations and many more music, sports and news channels, about 145 channels. Will only get channels between 1 and 184. If you call Sirius and try they could cancel the subscription. You can get the home kit if you rather have that but not both. It’s not a good idea to move these from the house to car and back all the time. The connections are delicate and will cause problems later on if you do. I record the SID number stored in the receiver memory. If you have a problem and need to return it you will need to return the same receiver with the same SID number and all parts. The radio ID number must display in the memory, not what is on back of the receiver. All you need to do is hook it up and start enjoying Satellite radio. Take care of it and it should last a long time. I will guarantee the subscription to be good for the life of the radio. Any problems just return it and I will send you a replacement. If you only want the receiver and make a offer let me know. I cannot guarantee that the subscription on this radio is going to last you for a lifetime, Sirius can deactivate any signal on any receiver at any time if they choose to and I have no way of knowing if that could ever happen. What really sets this listing apart from others is the CLEAN cosmetic shape of the boombox/receiver and the perfect receiver. I have taken great care of this set and purposely only used it on rare occasions to keep it intact. This radio has remained indoors and has never traveled. The exterior of the boombox really is in stunning cosmetic shape. Not only is it clean and free of dust, but it barely shows. Any signs of wear. The receiver has some minor signs of previous use but nothing noticeable unless closely examined. The screen has the normal scuffing throughout but very lite and but nothing major. Any possible scuff marks on the SP-R2 are not noticeable when the unit is powered on and in use. What really makes this a great lifetime subscription receiver is the overall condition of the bright backlight. SP-R2′s out there usually have lighting problems with buttons or even on the complete screen. Sportster Replay SP-R2 Receiver Condition. The Sporster receiever is in perfect working condition and beautiful cosmetic shape. The front side screen does have a little bit of scuffing but like mentioned in the description the scuffs are not noticeable at all when the unit is powered on and in use. The 2′nd to last photo shows the best picture I could get of these…. Bright light really has to be shining on the unit when it is off to see the scuff marks. Besides that, the receiver is in excellent condition all around without any other mentionable wear. All of the features have been properly tested and everything is in fully functional condition. The screens blue backlight is in beautiful shape. Sirius Sportster Boombox Condition. The Sportster boombox is in perfect working condition and excellent cosmetic shape. The radio has always been properly stored and is clean and free of dust. The battery compartment is 100% clean and free of any corrosion. The antenna connected to the radio is in perfect shape without any damage. The antenna has a 21′ long Cable extension and has been properly wrapped around the backside the correct way with just the right amount of slack left at the end. The antenna / wire are also in excellent clean cosmetic condition. When first setting up the boombox always make sure the antenna is properly inserted straight in the input for a clear signal. The boom box does ha a few cosmetic imperfections here and there but nothing major. There are a few with minor scuffs marks but nothing that stands out and no real damage. The radio looks and displays great all around. Please refer to the pictures so you can see the exact condition. Not only can you portably use the radio anywhere with batteries but you can also use it similar to a Home Kit. With The use of the Y adapter cable included in this listing, you can connect the boombox to your large home audio system. All you have to do is simply insert one in into the headphones input on the top and connect the red white RCA cables to your home stereo system. You would think this would cause some loss of sound quality but I assure you it does not. The radio has a separate volume which enables better sound and pretty much acts like a Preamp.
