I use 8 Duracell D Batteries and they last like forever That way I can just pick it up and take it with me or move it anywhere. I have never really used the power cord. I sure you can find a 9 Volt power cord anywhere. Probably in your junk drawer. This radio has an active subscription. It may or may not be a lifetime. I’ve run it for days and days at a time since then (several months now), and it continues to be active. It gets all the 184 channels. Howard Stern, Raw Dog Comedy, music stations. Based on the age of the unit, I assume it’s a a lifetime subscription or that Sirius is no longer sending a kill signal. So, I expect it to continue working I suppose. I will guarantee it comes to you working… But after that, I can’t make any guarantees. You have all the information I do… You can check my feedback to see I’m not out to screw anyone… You could get a really great deal here! Functionally, everything works great. It features a headphone jack, aux in (for iphone or other device), and volume control. You can run it off batteries (not included). It also features a cool handle for portability.
